Work. Most of the time, thoughts that are non-to joyful come to mind when we think of work. And most of the time, when we do work, we do it grudgingly (I do anyway. I don’t think I’m the only one…)
But this isn’t how it’s supposed to be:
Colossians 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
When we grumble, complain, don’t put 100 % into our work, or even if we do everything right on the outside but have a bad attitude on the inside, do you think it’s being worthy of God, or pleasing Him? No. God does not settle for OK. He doesn’t settle for excuses that you were tired or didn’t feel like putting everything into your work.
“Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Occasionally when I’m working, I think of that, and then I make sure my attitude and actions glorify Him (and let me tell you, all to often they aren’t) So think of that next time that you aren’t feeling up to working, remember that you shouldn’t be working for man, or what man will think of you, but you should be working for God.
