Moving Forward

I have never liked change.  Well, maybe a long time ago, when I had a much more adventurous spirit I didn’t mind it.  But recently I realize I hang on to things, wishing desperately that they wouldn’t move away from me (With the exception of school, which once I graduated I let move on quite willingly.  Imagine that 😀 )

The point is, the world constantly changes, and if we keep holding onto the past we miss the glorious future ahead.  This has really come to mind recently because we’ve sold the house and are going to move.  Not far, just across town, but move none the less.  Now at this point I can have two attitudes.  I can be upset, grudgingly pack up all my belongings, longingly watch back as we drive away and slowly unpack at the new house, missing the old one.  OR I could realize that the future is full of change.  I could accept what was happening, even look forward to the adventure of exploring a new property, strolling through a new house, meeting new neighbors and spending more time with my family while we go through this together.

Which do you think would be better?  The first will keep me constantly moody.  The second will make me more of a joy to those around me, and to myself for that matter.

Believe it or not we each control or own attitudes about our situation.  And our attitudes can effect those around us.

A post by another blogger that really helped me to see all this is right here: *click me!  click me!*  If you’re going through something similar to what I’ve been going through and need a boost, I’d recommend reading it 🙂

P.S This whole moving thing also means that my good intentions of posting regularly might have some issues here and there. But hopefully I can keep writing through most of it.
